Sustainability Matters
Our Values
Having worked in the fashion industry and starting my own jewelry brand, I recognize that Mabe&A has a responsibility to operate in the most sustainable way possible. This is not only for us as a brand but for all of our stakeholders, including customers, partners, and suppliers. Keeping this at the forefront of our minds, we only work with factories and suppliers that meet our values and criteria of transparency, responsible sourcing, and a safe working environment for our artisans.
The Industry
The industry is filled with cheaply made jewelry products, which can also be unethically produced and may contain harmful chemicals. The reason jewelry can be sold so cheaply is due to the mass production of inexpensive and often unknown materials, or significantly lower labor costs.
While a higher price tag on a piece of jewelry might suggest better quality, it sadly doesn't guarantee ethical production. Some sellers simply apply a larger markup to their goods.
At Mabe&A, we prioritize both the environmental impact of our jewelry's production and the quality of the materials we use. We want everyone to be able to enjoy beautiful, high-quality, ethical, and safe jewelry. We also work hard to keep our prices affordable without compromising on quality or materials so you can find something you love that fits your budget.

Manufacturing
At Mabe&A, sustainability is a priority. 80% of our production comes from manufacturers holding certification from the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), the leading authority on sustainability within the jewelry industry. Our main manufacturer has earned both RJC and BSCI certifications, demonstrating their commitment to ethical and responsible practices.
Our Packaging
Packaging significantly contributes to environmental strain, so at Mabe&A, we prioritize using only sustainable and/or biodegradable materials.
Our eco-friendly tissue paper, postal boxes, and printed materials are biodegradable, recyclable, or reusable. Our tissue paper is used with renewable soy-based inks and is completely acid-free and FCS Certified.
We are proud to now be a part of the NoIssue Eco-Packaging Alliance which means every packaging order we place; trees are planted for us in areas of need.
Our Stock
We stock limited quantities and only reorder styles as needed to reduce unnecessary waste and limit our environmental impact. We work with a made-to-order business model with our suppliers to avoid and reduce over-ordering, which creates waste.
Our Vision
We are constantly reviewing how we can improve our brand and the decisions we make to be as sustainable as possible.
Our vision is to actively engage our customers, our partners, and the jewelry community as a whole in developing a sustainable environment that inspires best practice and empowers individuals to make more responsible decisions, contributing to a more sustainable future.
